Jennifer Trelewicz, co-founder of TechAbantu, gave an invited talk yesterday at the 3rd International Conference on Digitalization and Management Innovation (DMI2024). The presentation, "AI for business analytics and intelligence - New technologies that help to overcome common pitfalls" discussed problems that businesses might encounter by employing Large Language Model (LLM) solutions, as well as means of mitigating the risks. Jennifer said,

LLM can provide strong value for business, including chat bots, tools for Business intelligence, assistance for employees and others, but the models have limitations. They are only as good as the training data. Protecting against errors, security risks, legal risks, and other problems requires a comprehensive approach to deployment with additional investments.

The talk was well-attended by an international audience and received interesting questions in particular about the popular new technology of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
